Average yogurt Average coffee Not bad or good Great seating but place is always mostly empty when I walk by this place. I asked staff nicely what Watusi meant and for the most part the answer was vague to completely ignoring me. How rude was that?
(3)Marina R.
Just OK. I am a big fan of tart frozen yoghurt, and this place definitely lacks in quality and flavor if compared to Pinkberry and Iceberry. Very generic, not very flavorful yogurt with very watery texture.
(3)Monica N.
A must on the island!! A variety of frozen yogurt plus many many choices for toppings! Also has coffee & other drinks. Right on the bike path, close to the beach.
(5)Brittany G.
Very nice place to grab coffee or sweet treat. Modern, clean, comfortable.
(5)Ann B.
We really enjoyed the frozen yogurt here! The place is really cute and the yogurt was delicious. Unlimited toppings were also a plus. Great alternative to ice cream!
(4)liz s.
I thought it was great to have an alternative to real ice cream on the island. Unfortunately i can't say the yogurt is good. It's watery and not very flavorful. However, the place is nice and clean, and the staff is super friendly. I doubt i'll be back though.
(2)Nick T.
My wife is a frozen yogurt enthusiast and I enjoy a good cup of coffee. This is a great concept and carried out well. Everything was excellent from the frozen yogurt to the coffee to the atmosphere. The owners were very friendly and we can't wait to go back.
(5)Joe D.
The best coffee place to start the day. Comfortable with great breakfast choices. Inside and outside seating. For the lunch they have the best sandwiches on the island at prices that allow you to do lunch more often. I love toast and peanut butter. I mentioned it and the next time i came in there was peanut butter....great service
(4)Mike S.
Staff was awesome, decor was cool (you can tell it caters to locals and us tourists) Food was awesome, came out quick. Coffee was freshly brewed and good portions. Would definitely recommend
(5)Chad M.
Amazing service and atmosphere, we were treated very well and the coffee selection and taste were excellent. They are open for breakfast and lunch, the home baked bread was tremendous as a part of the breakfast sandwich.
(5)Emily R.
Great food but my server was clearly overwhelmed, which made the experience not so great. Yummy coffee unless it's cold like my tended to be because of how long we waited for more.
(3)Catherine C.
The best breakfast of our Hilton Head vacation. Staff was friendly and the atmosphere was great with a huge semi circle coffee bar and funny signs and sayings all over the walls. Keep us entertained while waiting on our meal. :) It was almost too hard to decide what to get because everything on the menu looked great. My boyfriend had the Smoked Salmon Benedict and I had the Blue Crab Benedict and we split. The blue crab tasted so fresh with no fillers and the salmon was very tasty with the cream cheese base. You can't go wrong with either. And their coffee was bold and strong enough to give you that boost to beach day. Middle of the road on price but well worth it. We'll be back and have already recommended to friends.
(5)Brennon M.
We decided to take a trip to Hilton Head because, well, it's beautiful here. We decided to stop at Watusi because hey, breakfast. We were NOT disappointed. Everything was prepared exactly as it should be. The Belgian waffles were delicious, the grits were exactly as grits should be, and the whole experience was very friendly; we were very well taken care of. My one recommendation is to order something with fresh fruit. "Fresh" is a major understatement! I would swear it was all picked right out back. 9/10, would eat again.
(5)Mary K.
Food: Salmon Benedict was great. I had the Potato Pancake Benedict which was fabulous! Eggs were perfectly poached, ham was delicious. It was the right combination with the spinach and tomato. Drinks: I had the sand dollar speciality drink which was steamed milk, cinnamon and vanilla syrup, a shot of espresso, and whipped cream topped with cinnamon. The Very Berry smoothie was also great. Service: Best service I've had at Hilton Head Island hands down. Ask for Jessica. She was fantastic and everything I want in a server. Always there when I needed something or to make sure everything tasted great. Her service made the whole meal worthwhile. Will definitely be back and ask for her.
(5)Katie H.
this place is amazing. after visiting Java joes, I expected nothing extraordinary. I was pleasantly surprised. the inside atmosphere is relaxed and homey. there were some nice tables and couches. my kind of place. I ordered the 'it is what it is'. it was definitely worth the $5.60 I payed. it was the perfect blend of coffee and milk and chocolate flavoring. I wish I could've downed another, it was absolutely fantastic.
(5)Casey H.
The food and service was good. I had the the Big Watusi. My wife had Potato Benedict w her eggs well done. Our two girls, 8 and 10, ordered the chocolate waffle and the berry waffle. All of it was good. I tried the Potato Benedict and thought it was excellent. Portion size was good. A good value. Will be back again on our next visit. Special thanks to our server Jessica.
(4)Emily W.
Cute breakfast place to bike to from sea pines with cozy ambiance. Staff was friendly and attentive. Food came out very quickly. A lot of smoothie juice and coffee options!
(5)Todd B.
Great breakfast/brunch/lunch/coffee spot in Hilton Head. Very local feel, people are extremely nice and welcoming. Basically the opposite of the local Starbucks across the street. The food was fantastic and the coffee was amazing. You will not be disappointed. Give it a shot. Great outdoor atmosphere and inside dining also has a nice feel to it. Coffee bar inside as well if you want something on the go. Can't recommend highly enough.
(5)Jon H.
This is one of the best breakfast I have had in Hilton head or anywhere. Not just a coffee house. Get the salmon Benedict.
(5)Cameron D.
Fantastic food. Best breakfast ever. Service was great and total experience was exceptional. Highly recommend this restaurant.
(5)Doug F.
Fantastic and fresh. Potato cake Beni's and burrito were perfect. Belly happy. Quiet and cozy. Many choices when it comes to the coffee.
(5)Chris C.
We've never been to Hilton Head before and had no real clue of where we wanted to eat each day, but we knew that we wanted to eat at local restaurants. Watusi was our breakfast choice the first morning on the island and we were not disappointed. I had the Crab Cake Benedict with hash browns and both were excellent. The eggs were poached perfectly and when cut open the yoke flowed over the fresh lump crab, spinach, hollandaise, and English muffin the resulting experience was an explosion of flavor. I cleaned the plate. The hash browns were done just right not so crunchy that it was like eating a chip but not underdone and soft either. The kids had a blueberry muffin and biscuit. There wasn't much left of either and my daughter was very happy with the muffin. My wife had the Watusi sandwich and said it was good but didn't give much detail to the positive.
(4)Lauren R.
their slogan says it all: "It is what it is". Was told goat cheese was an up charge in an omelette (although, that was not indicated on the menu). Friendly atmosphere. Nice natural light. Mediocre food.
(3)Patti N.
Great atmosphere and the food is all organic, Love the outdoor seating area and ask for Natalie as your waitress. Love it.
(5)Joshua G.
To say this place is good is an understatement. I found this place on YELP and it had great reviews but DAMN. I've never had eggs benedict with so much flavor, and so fresh. My family had the waffles and the country breakfast. The coffee was tasty. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Kenny B's used to be my go to breakfast on the island but Watusi's has taken the breakfast crown on HHI in my book. Well done.
(5)Charity K.
Best breakfast on the island with amazing service! Ask for Natalie, she will make you feel right at home!
(5)Cara C.
The owner of Watsui let me know they now allow tips when paying with a credit card. I'm upping my original 4-star review to a 5-star since that was my only complaint after several visits last fall. We will be back and we continue to order Dancing Goats coffee at home after we tried it here & it was awesome! Thanks, Watusi - we'll be back later this year and look forward to more visits with you.
(5)Faith D.
Friendly service. Warm and smiley faces greeted my husband and I upon entry. I can totally see this place as a regular stop if I were a local. Although maybe not too regular since my large latte was nearly $6, but very delightful. I ordered their vegetarian eggs Benedict with a side of hash browns. Plentiful and a great way to start the day. The hash browns were browned to crunchy perfection. Comfortable stop. Decorated well. And plenty of options to please anyone in your party. While they take credit cards, bring cash if you want to leave a tip.
(4)Cynthia T.
Delicious brunch, helpful wait staff, quaint patio in shopping strip. One of the best meals we enjoyed during our trip. It was relaxing and enjoyable, even with 2 toddlers!
(5)Michael B.
We only had coffee. The regular brewed coffee isn't bad. It's not fantastic and the light roast is actually pretty tasty. The cappuccino on the other hand is way too big, the milk skills are lacking, and the flavor of the espresso is flat and lacking. All in all, I was hoping for a good third wave on the island, this is not it.
(2)Amanda G.
This spot is a must! The outdoor patio was clean, decorated nicely, nice comfortable furniture and had. Very nice "island" feel to it! Great service and friendly staff!! They also brought a bowl of water for my Pug who joined us for breakfast. The food was spot on. French toast was yummy! The Biscuits and Gravy were fresh and just the right seasonings!! You won't be disappointed!
(5)Joni O.
So disappointed in this place. We waited around to be served and finally had to ask if someone was going to come help us. The server was far from hospitable when she finally came and this place was not busy at all. I ordered the crab Benedict and it was like someone took canned crab and dumped it on an English muffin, then slapped an egg with hollandaise on it. It was $14 and didn't even come with potatoes or fruit. When I ordered hash browns for my friend and I to share, the server tried to discourage us and said that the benedicts are enough and that we didn't need hash browns. What kind of server does the opposite of upselling a side?
(2)Amanda S.
Absolutely delicious! I experienced friendly service. The frozen hot chocolate is awesome!! We had a Belgium waffle, build your own omelette, and hash-browns. The waffle was the perfect combination of golden crispy out side and fluffy inside. This was my first trip to Hilton Head. It was 1/2 a mile from the condo. It was an easy walk with a path almost the whole way.
(4)Tammy L.
My husband and I chose this restaurant for a farewell breakfast after our wedding and they did a great job accommodating our group. The french toast and crab benedict were our favorites and the coffee was delicious, too. I wish we had more time on the island so we could come back again and again!
(5)Jordan S.
On a sunny weekday morning my family was looking forward to eating breakfast outside and the comfortable patio here, with plenty of umbrellas, was the perfect choice. Come expecting to relax and spend some time because the service is slow paced. Everyone couldn't get enough of the Dancing Goat coffee but the iced coffee came out very watery. The food is everything you'd expect from all the reviews, especially the potato pancakes. My built-to-order egg white omelet came out delicious and fluffy and a breakfast sandwich at the table was well-received, however it was served with egg which was requested to be left off. I know my family will be coming back the next time we visit Hilton Head.
(4)Jessica G.
The eggs Benedict was delicious. My husband got the potato one and I got the crab one. We ate it in like 10 seconds. But our waitress was waaaaay overbearing. It was early and she was just a tad too much for us to handle. Especially for my husband who is not a morning person in the least.
(4)China D.
We loved it!!! We ate breakfast here the last day of our trip, wish we would have come the first day because it was DELICIOUS!!! We all enjoyed the drinks and the food. The staff was so nice!! Salmon platter was fresh and yummy. Belgium waffles were voted "best in the world" by my daughter! Smoothies were a hit with both kids.
(5)Lindsay M.
I'm sad that I didn't decide to visit Watusi earlier in our vacation. I stopped by Wednesday for an iced coffee, and fell in love with the place. Friendly staff, super comfortable and inviting interior, and delicious coffee. I was so impressed, I went back with the family on Thursday, then again on Friday, and we decided to have breakfast in their outside courtyard before heading home today. Great coffee and friendly service every single time. Today's breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend their made to order Belgium waffles, as well as the salmon Benedict. Delicious! And if you're looking for coffee that's better than the chain dunkins and Starbucks, definitely go here.
(5)Enio R.
Delicious. Extremely clean and great atmosphere. The food is a bit pricey (like all HHI food) but fresh and absolutely delicious. Get the eggs benedict on potato pancakes, you won't regret it.
(5)Joshua T.
Great breakfast and fantastic coffee. The only downside was they only have 1 highchair. I had to go get our own from our highchair from the car. But everything else was great.
(5)Donna L.
Delicious breakfast and lunch. Cute atmosphere. Coffee bar with exceptional coffee (we're coffee snobs). We had the French toast, breakfast sandwich and the classic Reuben. All were delicious. Outdoor and indoor seating. We will definitely be coming back.
(5)Tammie R.
We were looking for breakfast without any expectations. Watusi was wonderful the service was excellent and food delicious. Jessica was extremely helpful and attentive with food choices as well as places to visit while on the island. It is what it is and it was great. Had the omelet and specialty drink. Great portion size and taste. Will visit again.
(5)Hannah B.
Love this place. Ask for Jessica to serve you, couldn't ask for a better waitress and bubbly personality. Welcoming atmosphere. Oh yeah, possibly the best coffee I've EVER had. And believe me, I've had a lot of coffee. I MUST on your visit to Hilton Head.
(5)Diane B.
Only been here once, for breakfast, and absolutely loved it! Will definitely go back when we are back in HH.
(5)Matt F.
I wish we would have found this the first day we were here. Great service, nice setting, and everything we had was very good. It has all you could want out of a breakfast restaurant. Only bitch I would have would be it took a while to get the bill but I'll take that over being rushed out the door any day.
(5)Chris M.
Nice outdoor area. Dog/kid friendly. Got the Big Watusi sandwich. Sooo good. The menu looks really good. Breakfast served until 3.
(5)Ashraf E.
Worst service I've had in a long time. After reading all of the amazing reviews, I was pretty shocked. Our waitress Nathalie seemed to forget about us, and was too busy waiting on a large group to pay my wife and I any attention. She never came to check on us or offer a refill on my coffee. I was waiting for at least 15 min for my bill when I finally just walked to the register to pay it. All she had to do was apologize and say that she was busy with a large group...but she didn't even do that. The food itself tasted great...I ordered the Belgian waffle and my wife got the salmon eggs benedict. The only issue with the food was that my wife found a piece of wrapper from a stick of butter in her food. I mentioned it to the girl who cleared our table and her response was "ok". I hope that this was just an isolated occurrence, but I was just appalled at what passed for service.
(1)Patrick B.
Good food and service. Serves breakfast all day. Pretty cool indoor seating with a nice bar. Staff was courteous.
(4)Amy H.
The pimento cheese spread is really good.
(4)Haley A.
We were in town for the weekend and happened upon Watusi and were so glad we did. The hostess was nice and we were seated immediately. Our server was very attentive and accommodating, keeping a sunny disposition throughout our visit. The food and coffee were both fast, fresh, and delicious. We were so happy with our first experience that we came back for lunch again the next day, instead of trying another place. This experience was even better than the first, which was impressive considering how busy the restaurant and its staff were. Can't say enough nice things about this place. If we were locals, we'd absolutely be regulars. We'll be back!
(5)Debbi D.
Great service, breakfast all day, outdoor seating. Delicious benedicts. My husband had lunch at 10:00. Very accommodating. Easy to find. Good location. Jessica is a fun waitress.
(5)Kobi B.
We are visiting Hilton Head on vacation. I asked Siri where the best breakfast was. It/she brought me to Watusi. I was not disappointed! Natalie and Jessica are fantastic hosts at this comfy place that reminds me of a college town cafe, without the students. Eclectic and laid back. I had the Ocean Club scramble. Delicious! Perfectly seasoned eggs with sausage, cheese and avocado. My daughter had a Belgian waffle, which she enjoyed. We will definitely be back.
(5)Michelle P.
We randomly picked it here with our two children and very glad we did. First off Jessica is awesome!!! She not only was friendly but was so sweet with my little girl in fact letting her be the waitress for the day! Both my kids loved it so much we stopped back there for lunch on our way back home. Service from Jessica GREAT too, food was yummy too. My son said was the best pancakes he has ever had. If you are in town visit this place and hopefully you get Jessica :)
(5)Guy Y.
Nice place locate on the main road next to bike rental Good service. When we got inside early morning it was stink from frying so we had to stay out The food looks great !!
(4)Michael G.
As my wife and I were leaving Hilton Head for the Charleston airport, we decided to stop in and get one last breakfast. Watusi was a perfect choice for our last Hilton head experience. The service was perfect! The food was amazing (wonderful breakfast burrito)! The coffee was exactly what I wanted. The prices were a bit higher than I expected, but when you factor in service, we had no problems!
(5)Jim P.
Great place. Great food. Natalie is a hoot. We had breakfast twice omelets cooked perfectfuly. The Eggs Benedict on potato cakes was super good. Rich without being to heavy. The wattutsi sandwich is a total package breakfast on the cruchy baguette roll. Try the black and white coffee drink. Had it on a cool wet morning and it was perfect.
(5)Hailey W.
Cute little place with an charming atmosphere that is my new favorite in Hilton Head. The staff is friendly, the inside is cozy and inviting, and they have delicious coffee. The fro-yo is quite delicious as well I've heard. My family and I visited on Thursday and took the pleasure of dining outdoors in their courtyard while eating breakfast before heading home. Our meals were delicious and the service was excellent. I recommend trying the Salmon Benedict, as well as the Belgium Waffles. Dogs are allowed in the outside courtyard and they offer free wifi. I honestly wish we had visited this place more.I highly recommend visitng Watusi. Amazing!
(5)Ashley T.
Great food and really cute environment the only reason I gave 4 and not 5 is because the waiter was somewhat unpersonable and very soft spoken, almost couldn't even hear what he was saying. Would for sure go back next time we visit.
(4)Lleslle S.
Found Watusi on Yelp. Yay for Yelp! I was looking for a delicious breakfast place and I decided to try Watusi because I love coffee, delicious egg dishes especially benedicts, and it was near to where we were staying. I sat outside. The weather was nice and my server was bubbly and kind. I was going to try the salmon benedict based on the reviews but decided to try the special which was the Shrimp Florentine Benedict. I ordered grits for my side. For sides you could either have hash browns, grits, or pay a little extra for fruit. For my coffee, I ordered an almond milk latte. They don't (or didn't?) have soy milk the day I went. The benedict was deeeeelicious! The poached egg was the perfect amount of runniness and the shrimp was plump, cooked well, and plentiful. I recommend giving this place a try. Based on another review I thought I would have to pay for the tip in cash, but discovered that they must have changed that tradition because I was able to pay the tip on my credit card which was convenient.
(4)Mike P.
Best breakfast in HHI. Natalie was the best waitress! Super fun with great recommendations. I got the breakfast burrito with hash browns. The burrito was absolutely delicious and the hash browns were crispy on the outside. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great breakfast with local ingredients.
(5)Chris C.
A great place for a relaxed breakfast. we had the French toast, breakfast burrito and the potato pancake eggs Benedict. all were delicious but the eggs Benedict was the clear standout.
(5)Jean B.
This a wonderful eatery, family friendly but also very quaint. The crab benedict is wonderful with some unexpected greenery which was delightful. Grits are 10.
(5)DK K.
Potato pancake benedict was great - unique and really tasty. Smoothie was perfect and the waffles with berries was solid. Great and friendly staff. Prices were in line with the quality of food. If we had found this place earlier in our week then we would have visited it a few times. One of the better meals we had.
(5)Kelsey Y.
Love this place. Such great service, sat here for hours while I got work done and the staff took such great care of us. The food is good and the staff is friendly. Definitely one of my favorite spots on the island.
(5)Eric S.
Very good breakfast and super nice staff. This is the only place in Hilton Head that we went to twice. Just a really wonderful overall vibe.
(4)Elizabeth D.
Love this place!! Food was delicious! Also Gluten-free bread and English Muffins! Everyone at the table loved their meals. So much so that they went back a few days later. Great coffee as well! Will be back when in HHI again!
(5)Ryan U.
Great food and I hate to give it 3-stars, but we sat outside and someone who worked at the restaurant had their dog at work. The waiters, hostess and waitresses kept touching and playing with the dog. I don't HATE animals, but when you're serving food, PLEASE refrain from playing with an animal. For the life of me, I don't understand why someone would allow that in the restaurant business.
(3)Josh C.
An absolute gem! Service was impeccable, delicious food, and a super warm and receptive atmosphere.
(5)Louella M.
Best latte ever! Both my husband and I enjoyed the benedicts. He ordered traditional and I got the potato cake one - great, creative twist and both were delicious. Would have given it a five, but it took a while for our server to take our order. They were busy so I understand, but I didn't like that a table seated 10 minutes after got their order in right away.
(4)Kelly M.
We stop here at least three times every time we visit Hilton Head! All of their food is excellent. The coffee is delightful. There is a lovely outdoor seating area and the inside is a refreshing spot to read and visit. Jessica is a wonderful waitress and takes such great care of us!
(5)John M.
Been there twice, haven't had one complaint! Delicious sandwiches on French baguettes
(5)Brad D.
it's not often that I find a place with excellent food, coffee, and friendliness. Watusi hits all those! We felt like we were part of the family having brunch in our living room. Check them out! Salmon Benedict and the Scrambler were delicious, topped off with a perfectly made Cafe Americano!
(5)Regina R.
Finished up a delicious beautifully served brunch at Watusi. Can't say enough about the staff, the food, the setting. Jessica was our knowledgeable and personable server. We love the potato pancake benedict. It comes with ham but we subbed salmon. Fantastic! ! We saw several families with young ones, couples, enjoyong the relaxed setting. Our last visit included wine, salads, pasta and sandwiches. They feature dancing goat coffee. Serve smoothies. .. serve lunch and brunch all day. We will be back! !
(5)Andrew T.
Superior food and good service.
(4)Scott H.
Very friendly and great, comfortable service. Breakfast was very good with just the right amount of flavor. Not too much or overly spiced, but good combination of ingredients .Highly recommended!
(5)Craig F.
Excellent breakfast and international coffee. The Eggs Benedict and waffles were top notch.
(5)Jeff M.
This is at least the fourth time we have been to Watusi, and each time has been fantastic. The coffee is excellent. For breakfast I had the biscuits and gravy. I'm usually not a biscuits and gravy person, but they sounded good. Wow, these are great! Generous portions and the gravy flavor is awesome. There were chunks of sausage, but it wasn't overwhelming. I'll definitely be getting this again. My wife had the oceanside scramble. The portion again is generous and she took home half. I didn't have a bite this time, but she said it was great. Her side was hash browns and they were crispy on the outside and looked great. They didn't make it to the take out box. The staff is fun and very attentive. If you're considering a great place for breakfast, lunch or just a great cup of coffee, you don't want to miss Watusi.
(5)John E.
I vacillated between 4 and 5 stars, but settled for 5 because their core competency is good. The coffee was excellent, the breakfast was very good, and the lunch mediocre. So I'm rounding up based on coffee and breakfast, which was all I'd initially intended to get (we found ourselves needing lunch another day and got sandwiches to go). Stylistically the place is a nice mix of funky (for Hilton Head) and cozy, and the staff was pleasant. If you like browsing for good coffee on vacation, Watusi should be on your list - and probably the only entry on that list.
(5)Eric S.
Nice decor. Good branding. Funny signs. The yogurt was pretty good too. Make sure you give the caramel pretzel yogurt a try. The girl working was helpful too, and let us try as many samples as we wanted. It was nice to have frozen yogurt in a grown-up, coffee house, setting. Would definitely go back!
(5)Toni Y.
Delicious lunch with great service from Jessica. Nice environment too! Split the Reuben & greek salad with my dad, both were great; large portions & fresh. Will definitely come back for breakfast!
(4)Ej F.
While on vacation I was craving a smoothie and stopped in Watusi to order one. I was very impressed when inside at how nice and modern it looks. When I got to the register to pay the lady said nearly $8 for the smoothie! Good GOD! I have read other reviews and maybe the owners will to. The only complaint seems to be the price!
(3)Elizabeth R.
This is my first (ever) review. We had a bad experience. We are on vacation and my husband wanted a cup of coffee. Looked on Yelp and found Watusi. Got there ONE HOUR before they closed and they had already dumped all of their coffee (didn't offer to make some more). I ordered a soy mocha and it was bitter. Kids got frozen yogurt and said it wasn't good, they said the yogurt was very sour. $20 bad experience. My husband ended up going to Starbucks.
(1)Nick M.
Came here for frozen yogurt after dinner. Very nice place to chill in the evening. We didn't really partake from any of the place's menu other amenities. I will say - like most places we've visited on Hilton Head Island - this place could benefit from one extra employee on duty (toppings seemed depleted, trash was overflowing).
(3)Lisa H.
This place is so good! Don't be fooled by its rather boring exterior. We had the very best Benedict ever and their lunch menu is so good! We went back three times (twice for breakfast and once for lunch) and both times all 6 of us were amazed at how good the food was! Service great too and don't forget to order a wine smoothie! Heaven!
(5)Micky D.
Great brew. Perfect roast. For those who don't want to chance their coffee. I ordered the straight classic and I loved it.
(4)Jason K.
Great breakfast place! JESSICA is a terrific server. Great french toast and classic eggs benedict. Actually the best benedict I've had anywhere.
(5)Ronald N.
I'm a local and this was my first visit to Watusi. I ordered breakfast: the Hilton Head Scramble with grits and coffee. The scramble contained a generous mix of ham, mushrooms and cheese and was quite tasty. The grits were smooth and creamy and also delicious. I'm a Southerner and grits can be a "deal-breaker" for me. If they're lumpy (big no-no), unseasoned or thick and pasty, the breakfast experience is ruined. No joke. They promote their premium coffees, but their regular brew is good, albeit a little pricey ($2.25). Service was prompt and friendly (Kerra), the ambience nice and there were soft seating areas for those who just wanted to sip their coffee and talk or surf the Internet. I will go back and next time take my friends. I think they'll enjoy it as much as I did.
(4)Daniel S.
Really great breakfast place. Eggs were light and fluffy. "It is what it is" white/dark chocolate espresso drink is fantastic!
(4)Matt T.
Oh my....no offense...but this is so NOT Hilton Head. Great ambience - frozen yogurt is great for the kids but with none of the "zoo" factor as the other places. Wine and beer in addition to coffee - beautiful space with nice tables, couches and comfy chairs. Great place for post dinner treat for adults and kids alike!
(5)Alfonso M.
Ordered a latte and carrot cake. Both of them are pretty good. Great place to hang-out and check your email. They also have a free wifi.
(5)Keye D.
First time in Hilton head and had breakfast here because of their yelp reviews. They didn't disappoint ! Our server was Jessica and she was very nice and on top of everything ! Food was awesome and I'm super excited to use my new large Watusi mug ;)
(5)Adi R.
Breakfast here was very good. We tried waffles, grits, omelet, toast, sweet potato fries, hash browns, sausages and a latte. Latte and hash brown were not that great. Food was a bit oily. The taste was delicious for everything. Staff is very friendly and definitely expect 20% or more tip. . They are very good for accommodating your custom request
(4)Sofie S.
great coffee and cookies! people who work there are very friendly and the place is set up very nice. the only problem is that they don't serve food after 2:30pm witch is annoying because I get out of school at 2:30pm and don't get there in time to eat. the location is great considering it's walking distance from the beach!!!
(4)Jon L.
Had the turkey reuben and ice coffee. Food was excellent, and the décor is charming. Kerry (sp), sister of the owner, was very welcoming and helped us with our biking route. Recommended, thanks, all good.
(5)TJ M.
It's ok just regular frozen yogurt with toppings. However, in there is no other frozen yogurt place in Hilton Head hence all the great reviews.
(3)Kerry B.
Great food, great coffee along with good service. I had the scramblers and waffles on two different occasions which were excellent.

Typical froyo joint. That being said I've only had real ice cream once this year. I'm over froyo. This place was fine, not a huge selection but pretty good. It appeared to be fairly clean and looked like they had other stuff too like food or pastries. I wasn't really paying attention I had sweets on the brain.

My first review ever.... Just finished the Smoked Salmon eggs Benedict. Best I've ever had - anywhere. My wife says they have the best coffee (it had a hint apricot) on the island.

Had a great lunch today of soup and sandwich!! Service was good and very personable. Ready for another meal!!

Best atmosphere, coffee, breakfast and staff! Jessica and Shelly really make you feel at home. If your in HHI definitely try the Bohemian blend.

Finally, Hilton Head has a self serve frozen yogurt place. The decor is awesome and bf tried their coffee the other day, while I indulged in caramel pretzel frozen yogurt. Both were great!! They have both options, the fat free kind and the indulgent kind. Toppings range from healthy to candy bars. Whatever you like.... Watusi has it!!!

We have had several truly outstanding breakfasts at Watusi. I highly recommend this restaurant. Their salmon benedict is to die for and their hash browns are so good I ordered a double order. Their breakfast ham is very good.

What a refreshing find amidst the Starbucks on Hilton Head. Locally owned shop with the owner working her charm behind the counter every time I was in there. Pimento cheese seems to be THE thing on the island and Watusi does not disappoint. This is a great place to stop in for so many reasons: self serve fro-yo, coffee, sandwiches and even a breakfast menu! It's got a really cute and pretty hip vibe. Service, like their motto "is what is is." I don't mind the few extra minutes it takes with a small staff on board during off season, but this isn't the kind of place to grab something to-go and expect a speedy exit.

Good atmosphere. Small cappucino was rather large and delicious.

Great little coffee shop with frozen yogurt and breakfast to boot! If I lived near a coffee shop like this I would be here all the time. Breakfast sandwich and egg dish were both top notch.

Cute decor and friendly service! They have cute stuff to buy too! We're visiting from michigan and would love to come. back to vacation here!!

Charming coffee shop with great atmosphere. Coffee was delicious. Although we didn't dine here, the lunch and breakfast menu looked tempting. Frozen yogurt bar was a nice surprise treat for the kids. This will become a regular stop for us when on the island.

Love this place, so what the island needed!! The self-serve frozen yogurt is incredibly creamy with about 8 choices. The Tahitian Vanilla and Cinnamon Bun were especially good with Peanut Butter and Orchard Peach being right up there. Nice variety of toppings from lots of fresh fruit to candy bars to nuts and granola. Staff was super friendly and owner was happy to talk to first timers. Prices are exactly what you'd expect (3 decent sized yogurts with tons of topping ran me about $12) and you're sure to get great quality. Location was right off the square, easy to get to car, bike, or foot. Bike rack is at the right end of the lot. From now on, I will definitely skip the mediocre "old-fashioned ice cream parlors" in Coligny Square and come straight to Watusi instead!! Don't forget to mention the ad on the sidewalk to get $1 off and check their Facebook for more promotions.

Awesome place! Quite. Nice decor. Eggs were great. Mocha latte was perfect. No wait. Muffins were a little cold in the middle but the croissant was very good. Price was very reasonable for a vacation spot. Much better than the other breakfast options in the Coligny circle area.

I loved everything about this place. Okay not everything. I didn't like that I had to do a u-turn to get there but aside from that it was stellar. The interior is inviting to hang out and enjoy yourself, the yogurt is awesome (especially the toppings) and the staff is super friendly. To be honest I wish I took the opportunity to try the coffee too. It was our last day at Hilton Head and we liked it so much we went twice in the same day to take a few people with us who didn't go the first time. I think I liked it more the second time. Unfortunately I have nothing like this where I actually live so I'll have to just drive 16 hours to have the same experience again.

Great coffee shops are rare. This one is a gem. First the coffee is excellent. Second the food is very good with enough variety to choose from. The seating area offers a good mix of comfort and practical. The place has a good vibe to it. The staff was friendly and attentive. When I return to Hilton Head I'll definitely be starting the day off here.

Thankfully we trusted the reviews. Really neat little place... Very comfortable, with excellent yogurt and smoothies. Officially added to our yearly trip.

We stopped into Watusi on a hot afternoon after biking around town. After tasting practically everything we wound up creating a couple of huge servings with seemingly every possible yogurt flavor combination. We restrained the urge to go overboard on toppings (hot fudge and raspberries for me, strawberries for hubby). We really enjoyed chatting with the staff and collapsing into their big comfy couches to rest our weary selves after a long hot ride and enjoy our snack. I'd love to go back again for lunch.

Friendly staff, very comfortable atmosphere, excellent coffee! A favorite for sure :)

Watusi is located in a little plaza and was very easy to find. Upon entering, you feel like you're at home. It has a lot of character with the seating arrangements, the trinkets if offers for purchase, and the menu is phenomenal! I had the "it is what it is" coffee special and it is hands down the BEST coffee I've ever had!! My cousin was with me, who also got the same thing, and said the exact same thing...and she knows her coffee! We were also surprised to see a self-serve froyo section, which we gladly tried and it was delicious! The flavors that were offered were amazing and different from what you would see at other actual froyo places. Just sitting inside the establishment, it has comfortable seating and some really neat pictures on the wall to browse. If you are looking for a place with great coffee and great customer service, this is the place to check out!

Coffee is a big improvement over the national chain(s) and the atmosphere is head and shoulders better! The comfy chairs and couches, not to mention a cool bar, make this place a great addition to the south end. Plus I bought the cutest tee shirt! Great local place

By far the best breakfast and coffee in Hilton Head! The inside mixes a cute coffee shop vibe with amazing food. Since being in Hilton head I have eaten here twice. The vegetarian Benedict and the French toast were both out of this word!!! The coffee drinks are delicious as well, way better than any other coffee shop or chain. The wait staff was very friendly and service was quick! This place absolutely deserves 5 stars!

Came here on a breakfast date with my sister. We both ordered the Crab Eggs Benedict with the potato cake instead of the english muffin. They were scrumptious! My sister who is a chef said, "Oh wow! These eggs are cooked perfectly. I don't know about you, but I hate when I order Eggs Benedict and the yolk is overcooked and then every bite you are like "Man this is a waste of calories." The dog outside is so cute! We used to vacation here on the island and every year we would go around and say hi to all the dogs. So of course I had to recreate the memory. The service was wonderful. She was very nice when I asked her about 15 different questions about the cookies. I have a huge sweet tooth. I ordered a chocolate chip cookie, but I haven't tried it yet. When we were leaving she offered to put ice in our water bottles. So go here and order my modified version of the Eggs Benedict and say hello to the boxer. I edited to add: I tried the chocolate chip cookie and it was terrible. It was too hard and not enough chocolate chips. It was even hard to break. Sad cookie day.

Great breakfast...especially the omlette made your way. The potato benedict was interesting but definitely needs the hollandaise sause to give it flavor. A laid back, kooky atmosphere. We would come back and try another dish...

I have to start off by saying how nice and relaxing the atmosphere is with beautifully decorated dining area inside and out. We sat inside for brunch and had great service. The menu offering is kinda small, but food was good. I had a ham, egg and cheese croissant served in a basket. It would have been easier to eat from a plate, but it did look interesting. I was disappointed with the drink selection as I wanted a fountain drink and they had bottles. My husband had the medium roast coffee and said it was really good. The prices are a little high, but to get away from loud children in other big restaurants was worth it on vacation. I would recommend this place to couples or anyone without small children. It's more of a coffee shop style atmosphere. Ample parking and lots of patio seating.

Had the chance to take a small road trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina. We decided to leave early in the morning, when I say early I mean 2:00 am. We arrived at Hilton Head around 7:30 am and I was hungry. Like always I yelp my way around town. While I yelp first thing that came up was Watusi. With great reviews and pictures, we had to try this place out. I had order their Salmon Egg Benedict. Let me tell you something, this sh... was delicious. Plus this was my first time ever eating a egg benedict. They made my first time experience eating am egg benedict memorable. Definitely would recommend all friends to go get breakfast at Watusi if they are vacationing around Hilton Head, South Carolina. Nice area, good staff and great food. You will not be dissapointed. Take my would for it. Eat and be happy.

Watusi I give you two stars for having a coffee atmosphere and actually good coffee. The shortcoming was the food. The eggs Benedict did not run.. If your not sure the eggs will run, then you might want to start over. P.S. Runny eggs is what makes the dish. Now on to the scrambler...anybody can scramble a couple of eggs and put some cheese on top. We were expecting this to be served in a hot skillet and nicely prepared for the price. The breakfast and two coffees were a bad value for what we got. I recommend a coffee and to skip the rest.

I think the most amazing part of this breakfast for me was the hair that was cooked into my waffle. The second most amazing part was that there was no apology, no adjustment of the bill for huge inconvenience, NOTHING. Absolutely disgusting. Then the fact that I had to wait while they made another one while my husband had his breakfast sitting in front of him and without wanting it to get cold, I told him to go ahead and eat, which he felt bad about for not waiting for me. Next up, service. The waiter seemed constantly disorganized. I had to ask for cream for my coffee, had to ask for syrup for my waffle, it was annoying - syrup is an item that you bring out WITH or BEFORE the food - you don't make the customer wait and request it. Then I had to wait for him to bring each of those items - he was more interested in making sure the dog that was on the patio had water. Overall, I thought the food was bland and unmemorable, even the syrup which lacked sweetness and flavor. Whoever said this was the best breakfast on the island maybe hasn't eaten anywhere else? I don't know. But for me, to see a giant hair coming out of the side of my waffle that had been cooked INTO it followed by mediocre...wait, not even mediocre, I'll say poor service and bland food and having to ask for every single thing that should be offered or brought anyway isn't my idea of a good breakfast or good service. Meh. Go somewhere else!

Watusi is what it is. It is an amazing coffee bar mostly. It has a great look and feel. Very comfortable. There are even people on their laptops working with their lattes. I would do the same if I called Hiltonhead home. For great coffee I suggest the Nutty Irishman or the Pecan Pie. The Sand Dollar is good but I'm not that much of a fan of cinnamon. The Honey Bun is very light and sweet, my wife stole it from me. We had breakfast there and it was amazing. I had the Crab Benedict. English muffin, crab, spinach, poached egg with hollandaise sauce. It was the best breakfast I had while on Hiltonhead. My wife had the potato pancake Benedict. It's two potato pancakes, each with smoked ham they slice off the bone in the kitchen, topped with spinach, a slice of tomato, poached egg and hollandaise sauce. It was amazing as well. My oldest daughter got the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits are made from scratch and are so light and fluffy. The gravy is great. Tastes like homemade. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed it. My kids all had fruit smoothies. My daughters both had Pink Monkeys, strawberry and banana. My son got a Very Berry I believe and loved it. Everything at Watusi is organic and fresh. The coffee is fresh roasted when they order it. If you want good coffee and food for breakfast or lunch while on the island, check out Watusi. It is what it is, and I love it.

I've been racking my brain since we had breakfast here for a reason to not give this place 5 stars and even though I can find some minor beef, I simply cannot ignore the terrific experience I had. Was it "island time" for them to bring our food and open the doors at 7:30AM? you better believe it, but it was worth every minute of our toddlers tantrums once the food did come out. Was the music a bit too loud and out of place for a early morning breakfast? absolutely. Even the strange man who disrupted our breakfast to take pictures of my family on his flip phone and then ask us for money was not enough to tarnish my opinion of Watusi. The food was simply outstanding. I'm 99% certain the blueberry muffin was made to order on the spot, and was warm and fluffy, and made me want to roll around in its tasty goodness. The potato pancake benedict (or whatever it's called) was literally the best breakfast meal I've ever had, and I've eaten me some delicious breakfast food. Waitstaff was friendly and outgoing, and did a great job of figuring out ways to keep the kids from running rampant while the chef worked his/her magic. I'm also a big fan of their patio/deck area to sit. It's a bit chic and on the trendy side, but they have not sacrificed function for form - it's a great spot to have your coffee as well as eat your breakfast. I highly recommend this place to kick off your beachy day on the Island - it's a winner!

I find myself dreaming about this place. I came in one morning, took a cozy spot in the corner, and proceeded to look at the menu. I wanted to order five different items. They ALL looked SO good! I went with the veggie Benedict and their House Blend decaf Dancing Goats coffee. I'm not a vegetarian, just a sucker for a good Bene. My coffee took a couple minutes, because they brewed it FRESH. This is ALWAYS a welcome tactic. I savored every, last bit of that Benedict. Back home now, I find myself wishing I lived a lot closer so I could stop in for breakfast and that fabulous coffee. Let me tell you. It didn't matter how quickly I wanted to get to the beach, I was staying until every drop of that coffee and last bite were gone!

Dance the Watusi! My husband and I were heading to another restaurant, on a hot July Saturday morning, only to find it closed. We yelped nearby restaurants and decided to give Watusi a try. A short walk later we found Watusi, an unassuming treasure off Pope Avenue. We ordered the potato pancake eggs benedict and the Watusi breakfast sandwich. Wish we had taken a photo (just to show the consistency via photo's of other yelpers). What you see, is what you get. Every aspect of our Watusi experience was delightful. Looking forward to our next visit!
